Hi there. I’m Sarah!

Life story summed up according to the places I’ve lived: I grew up in El Paso, Texas. It’s more “Arriba!” than “Yeehaw!”  You could see Mexico from my house. Not really, but you could drive to Mexico from my house.

When I grew up, I moved to Austin, Texas’ least Texas-y city, to study biology and learn how to be a woman. I’ll leave further double entendre jokes to you dear imaginative readers.

Then I traveled to Berkeley to learn how to be a public health researcher. No, I do not know what that growth is on your back because I’m not a doctor. I can only dispense health advice that I may or may not follow myself.

After that, I lived and worked in Vietnam for a few years. Yeah, that was weird. I liked it. You should visit.

Then I moved to the opposite of Vietnam, Kansas. Figuring I was a liberal Commie, they threw me out and now I’m in Seattle trying to figure my life out. Unless you’ve already figured it out, in which case please email me and tell me because I’d rather be watching TV.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Sarah, I am reading your Hanoi’s blog, as I may move there for a job. Your blog is great, exhilarating. Can’t stop reading it. I would like to ask you some question and wondering if I can contact you by email or so. Thanks!

Hey! I followed your blog years ago and recently found this new. I stopped writing for a long time as well but glad to see you’re still doing it!

    Hi Sarah,

Like others above, I stumbled upon your Hanoi blog and have been leafing through the entries. It’s quite interesting and well-written. I recently returned to the States from a year teaching English in Shanghai, and am thinking of moving to Vietnam next to do the same thing. My thoughts were on maybe choosing Hanoi, and your blog has been my most in-depth resource so far in making my decision.

I see that you’ve since dropped the Hanoi blog and have discontinued posting on it. I realize you may be looking to move away from it (and from being a go-to “Vietnam resource” for lost Googlers 🙂 ), and I don’t want to pester you with questions, but if you have a second in your day and still like/don’t mind talking about Vietnam, I’d love to ask you a few questions. If not, no worries! If so, feel free to shoot me an email. Thanks, and keep up the writing!

Hi Matt. Feel free to send me your email address and I can give you my move-to-Hanoi-right-now spiel. 🙂

Ok, I thought it would be included in my post information (that you’d be able to see)? I tried to find a contact address on both sites but I didn’t see one listed. Maybe I’m just missing something? Sorry for the trouble, I’m just leery of posting my email on the internet. 🙂

Whoops, you’re totally right. I was looking in the wrong place, but I found your email. I’ll write soon!
